IDENTIFICATION Head Pores - absent ? Scales - Anterior part of body scaled; scales extending forward to a point near midline under base of 7th dorsal ray; in 12 oblique rows to base of caudal; a few scales on base of peduncle ctenoid; modified basicaudal scales present

Fins - D1 - VII; anal 8; pectoral 16, extending to under first ray of D2

Head - Eye very large; interorbital very narrow; lower jaw witout posterior inner caninoids

Papillae - A transverse pattern with row 5i at anterior of row b, vertical rows 1,2,3 not extending below the level of row d

Color - A rather uniform light yellowish - preserved specimen

Distribution - Progreso, Yucatan, Mexico

Habitat - Collected at 84 fathoms
